Projects + Passions = Purpose
For twenty-plus years I founded my own cause marketing company, (mhowe.com) whereby I matched for-profit businesses with nonprofits. Executives satisfied unfilled passions into projects that gave them, their company, and their employees a profound sense of purpose. Clearly, a sense of purpose gives our life deeper meaning and so, I continue to create projects that do just that. Featured here are a few. Nearly 10 years ago my love and passion for our oceans, seas, rivers, and beyond created the No Plastic Tuesdays Challenge. Years prior I was a pivotal part of Heinz and Bumble Bee ceasing to buy dolphin-tainted tuna and quite familiar with the massive pollution affecting marine life in general.
Today after living in NorCal for 30 years, the fires chased me back to my roots in the NE where, after witnessing an elder, a 100 year old +, white oak, being felled in less than 3 hours, stunned me, to my core, as in you no longer live in tree-hugging Cali. And so . . . . . I created the Coxsackie Tree Council in hopes of this little village becoing a ‘Tree City, USA.’ I also fixed the church bell that rang 47 X three X a day, still smiling about this accomplishment.
In working progress is the book I am writing with and for Campo Culture, entitled The Five-Star Farmer, all about regen farming, sustainable designs and pracitces with the farm hospitality industry. All of which are in the EU. Campo Culure is locatied in Portugal, and lucky me, as I am frequently there.
Most recently I co-founded the Almost Forgotten Women Artists (of the 20th century), an initiative of the Cameron Parsons Foundation, which makes me very happy.

Monday Muse
My collection of quotes began at a very young age. I’d write them on scraps of paper, in my ‘diary’, and share them with anyone who would listen. Over the years my love for words and reading only grew, and eventually, I began sending Sunday evening email blasts to friends and clients, called Incidentals. Over the years Incidentals turned into my Stay True World social media posts, generally posted on Sundays. My idea was and is to share some provocation of musing, a consideration, a time-out if you will to simply reflect and stare out a window. All of the above has morphed into Monday’s Muse, my credo for posting quotes as best I can each Monday. Here are some matched with my images. For more Monday’s Muse, please visit @staytrueworld on Instagram.
